It's Always Been About

RUM & COKE

We're all about soaking up the rich history and flavors of Key West. With each batch of salt-cured rum, we've captured the very essence and rebellious spirit of this sun-kissed paradise. After all, we advocated to change the law and were the first to legally distill and sell liquor here. And isn't it just fate that our rum distillery found its home in a former Coca-Cola Factory? Rum and Coke - it was meant to be!

JACK'S SALOON

Built in 1900 as the original location of Jack's Saloon, many a drink was poured and libation was had here.

COCA-COLA FACTORY

Rum Running Is Part Of

OUR PAST

The Florida Keys have a storied history of rum running that dates back to the Prohibition era, when smuggling rum from the Caribbean into the United States was a thrilling and lucrative enterprise. The maze-like waterways, remote islands, and the vibrant, free-spirited atmosphere of Key West made it an ideal hub for these daring exploits. Key West's own history is steeped in this rich tradition, and it's from these adventurous times that Key West First Legal Rum Distillery draws its inspiration, crafting exceptional rums that capture the spirit of that legendary era.
